Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested in New York on September 16, 2024, following a sealed indictment by a federal grand jury. While the specific charges have not yet been revealed, his arrest is believed to be tied to an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, which surfaced earlier in 2024.

Federal agents arrested Diddy at a Manhattan hotel. His legal team stated that he had been cooperating with the investigation and moved to New York in anticipation of the charges.

This arrest follows a string of civil lawsuits, including one from his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who accused him of sexual abuse and trafficking, claims that Diddy has denied. Some of these lawsuits were settled, but the investigation continued.

Sean "Diddy" Combs was recently denied bail as he faces a wide range of serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. Despite an extensive $50 million bail proposal by his legal team, which included home detention with GPS monitoring and the use of his Miami properties as collateral, the judge rejected the request due to significant concerns about Combs’ behavior and the gravity of the allegations against him.

Prosecutors presented damning evidence gathered from over 50 victims and witnesses, suggesting that Combs used his influence and wealth to create a criminal enterprise that exploited women through coercion, violence, and manipulation. The indictment paints a disturbing picture, detailing how Combs allegedly arranged and filmed elaborate "Freak Off" parties, where women were forced to engage in sexual acts, often under the influence of drugs provided by him. Additional evidence, including narcotics, firearms, and videos, was discovered during FBI raids at his properties earlier this year.

If convicted on all counts, Combs could face a minimum of 15 years in prison, with some charges carrying the potential for a life sentence. The severity of these allegations, combined with concerns over substance abuse and anger issues, contributed to the judge’s decision to keep him behind bars until his trial.
